Frequently Asked

Will my results go to my doctor?

Your results belong to you. We deliver the report directly to you, and you decide who to share it with. If you'd like us to send a copy to your primary care physician or cardiologist, we will — we encourage it. Many patients use their BlackPoint results to prompt a conversation with their PCP they might not have had otherwise.

Can I use my HSA or FSA?

Yes. Cardiovascular ultrasound screenings are qualified medical expenses under both HSA and FSA plans. We accept HSA/FSA cards directly at time of booking. We also provide an itemized receipt that can be submitted for potential insurance reimbursement — though we cannot guarantee reimbursement from any specific insurer.

Is this a screening or a diagnostic test?

BlackPoint performs diagnostic-grade echocardiograms with the same equipment and protocol standards used in hospital cardiac labs. The study is interpreted by a board-certified cardiologist (Dr. Gandelman MD FACC) and the report uses the same clinical language your PCP or cardiologist would receive from any imaging center. This is not a consumer screening device — it is a full diagnostic cardiac ultrasound.

What if something concerning is found?

Dr. Gandelman will indicate recommended next steps clearly in the written report. For time-sensitive findings, he will contact you directly. You can also schedule a telehealth follow-up consultation with Dr. Gandelman starting at $335 to review findings in depth and create a care plan.

Do you accept insurance?

We do not bill insurance — we are a direct-pay service. This is intentional: it allows us to offer same-week appointments, transparent flat-rate pricing, and cardiologist-reviewed results within 48 hours — without any of the delays caused by prior authorization. HSA and FSA are accepted. We provide receipts for potential reimbursement.
