The Basics

Do I need a doctor's referral?
No. You can book any screening directly without a physician's order. We are a cash-pay service, which means you have the freedom to take control of your own health without navigating the traditional healthcare system first.
Do you accept insurance?
We are cash-pay only and do not bill insurance directly. This keeps pricing transparent and eliminates authorization delays. We can provide a receipt you may submit to your HSA, FSA, or insurance company for potential reimbursement at your discretion.
How do I book an appointment?
Book directly through our online scheduling system. Choose your service, select a date and time, fill in your details, and pay securely through Stripe. You'll receive a confirmation email immediately.
Where are you located?
Our mobile screening service is at Southern Maine. We also offer mobile concierge service throughout Midcoast Maine — we come to your home, workplace, or another convenient location.
What is your mobile service area?
We serve the greater Midcoast Maine area including Brunswick, Bath, Bowdoinham, Freeport, Yarmouth, Augusta, and surrounding communities. A concierge fee applies based on distance from your location.

The Screening Experience

Are the scans painful?
No. All ultrasound screenings are completely painless and non-invasive. No needles, no radiation, no medications. A small amount of gel is applied to your skin and a handheld probe gently captures images. Most patients find the experience relaxing.
How long does each scan take?
Each individual scan takes approximately 45 minutes. For packages with multiple studies, allow approximately 45 minutes per study plus a few minutes between each.
Do I need to prepare for my scan?
For most scans, no preparation is needed. For the kidney arterial and abdominal aortic ultrasounds, we recommend fasting 4–6 hours beforehand for the clearest images. We provide specific instructions at booking.
What happens during the scan?
You'll lie comfortably on an exam table. Our ARDMS-certified sonographer applies warm gel to the area being scanned and gently moves a handheld probe over the skin. You breathe normally throughout. The sonographer focuses on capturing the best possible images.
Can the sonographer tell me my results during the scan?
Sonographers are highly skilled imaging specialists, but by professional and legal standards only physicians can diagnose conditions. Your results will be interpreted and communicated by a board-certified cardiologist in a written report within 24–48 hours.

After Your Scan

How and when do I receive my results?
Your results are delivered via secure, HIPAA-compliant email within 24–48 hours of your scan. The report is written in plain language by a board-certified cardiologist and explains findings, what they mean for your health, and recommended next steps.
What if something significant is found?
If our cardiologist identifies a finding requiring prompt attention, we will contact you directly and advise you to follow up with your physician or, in urgent cases, seek emergency care. Significant but non-urgent findings will have clearly outlined follow-up steps in the report.
What if everything looks normal?
A normal result is a wonderful thing — it gives you real, physician-confirmed peace of mind. The report will document normal findings at each structure examined and confirm that no significant abnormalities were identified.
Can I share my results with my doctor?
Absolutely. We encourage you to share your cardiologist report with your primary care physician or any specialist. The report is formatted to be clinically useful for any receiving physician.
