Three screenings in one 60-minute visit at our Falmouth office, which opens October 1: an echocardiogram, a carotid duplex, and an abdominal aortic screening we are adding free. Booked separately they are $1,094.
Exactly what you get and what it costs — against our published rate, not an inflated one.
Every screening is the same study we always perform — same equipment, same protocol, read by the same board-certified cardiologist. The price is lower because we are opening a new office, not because the screening is smaller.
Heart, neck and abdomen. Booked separately they are three appointments and $1,094; here they are one 60-minute visit and $497.
How well the heart is actually pumping, how the valves are moving, and whether the muscle has thickened. A stethoscope and an EKG cannot show any of this.
The two arteries in your neck that feed the brain. Plaque builds there silently for years, and narrowing is one of the clearest warnings that a stroke risk is developing.
An abdominal aortic aneurysm gives no symptoms until it becomes an emergency. The scan takes about ten minutes and normally costs $397. During the opening it is included at no charge.
All three studies are performed back to back and read by a board-certified cardiologist — a physician whose lab holds IAC Accreditation in Echocardiography and Vascular Testing, the same standard hospitals are held to. One written report, within 24 to 48 hours.
The three are fixed, and that is what makes the hour and the price work — the aortic scan adds about ten minutes to a visit already set up for vascular imaging. If your risk sits somewhere else entirely — legs, kidneys, veins — say so at the appointment and we will talk about what makes sense as a separate visit.
Travelling screening companies book a hall for an afternoon and move on. That is a different business to ours, and it is worth knowing which one you are buying.
A screening is only worth what the person reading it can tell you, and what you can compare it against next time. Both of those need someone still being here.
The scan itself is the easy part. Most people are surprised how little there is to it.
From October 1 we have a fixed office in Falmouth. Evenings and weekends are available, so it fits around a working week rather than instead of one.
The three studies run back to back in roughly 60 minutes — the aortic scan adds only about ten. You lie down, we apply some gel and use an ultrasound transducer, the same equipment you would find in any hospital. Nothing enters your body. Nothing hurts, and you drive yourself home after. Come with an empty stomach — no food for 4 to 6 hours beforehand, so the view of your aorta is clear. Water and your usual medications are fine.
Dr. Glenn Gandelman, MD, FACC reviews the images and writes a full report in plain language — not a technician summary. It reaches you within 24 to 48 hours.
You book directly. There is no appointment required just to get permission for an appointment, and nothing to arrange with your doctor first.
The discount is applied automatically at checkout — there is no code to remember, and nothing to choose before you arrive.
An echocardiogram and a carotid duplex — the two studies that between them look at your heart and the arteries feeding your brain. The abdominal aortic screening is added at no charge while the opening offer runs.
All three studies happen in one 60-minute visit. A board-certified cardiologist reads every one, and your written report follows within 24 to 48 hours.

Want to see where your own risk sits first? Take the two-minute risk assessment and we will show you which studies look at the areas your answers flag — or call (207) 409-7797 and we will talk it through.
One thing: do not eat for 4 to 6 hours before you come in. The aortic scan looks through your abdomen, and food in the way makes the image much harder to read. Water is fine and you should take your usual medications as normal. Wear something two-piece if you can, so the chest and abdomen are easy to reach. That is all — no needles, no radiation, no medication changes, and you can drive yourself home afterwards.
Yes — it is included with the package at no extra cost while the opening offer runs, and it is normally $397 on its own. It is offered as part of the package rather than as advice about what any particular person needs. If it is not appropriate for you, we will say so at the appointment and you will not be charged for it either way.
Our published Stroke Prevention Screening — the echocardiogram and carotid duplex together — is $697, and an abdominal aortic screening is $397. Booked separately that is $1,094. During the grand opening the package is $497 and the aortic screening is included at no charge, so you save $597.
Only you, unless you tell us otherwise. Your report goes to you directly. Nothing is shared with an insurer, an employer, or anyone else without your say-so — and because you are paying us rather than a plan, there is no claim trail to follow you around.
The package is fixed: echocardiogram, carotid duplex and abdominal aortic screening. That combination is what lets us fit all three into one hour at this price. If your history points somewhere else — legs, kidneys — tell me at the appointment and we will talk about what makes sense as a separate visit.
About 60 minutes for two screenings — whether that is two people or two studies for one person.
No. You book directly, and no referral or prior authorisation is required. We provide everything your own provider needs to continue your care.
Yes — it is limited to the first 75 patients. Emanuel performs every screening personally around a full-time clinical job, and 75 is roughly half of what the Friday and Saturday calendar holds across the opening period.
These are cash-pay preventive screenings, so no insurance is billed and no prior authorisation is needed. We accept all major credit and debit cards, plus HSA and FSA.

Used BlackPoint for an echocardiogram and from beginning to end it all went smoothly, no surprises and expectations exceeded. Same equipment that was used in a prestigious DC area hospital. Manny was helpful and full of great information. It is great to be able to know up front the cost of testing and to have complete, accurate results with measurements included to send to my PCP. I didn’t have to wait to schedule, and he was prompt, courteous, and knowledgeable.
Manny was extremely friendly and respectful, I felt very informed and helped by the services he provides in his business. Would most definitely recommend coming here for cardio/vascular ultrasounds.

Just had my first echocardiogram (heart ultrasound) so very impressed. Nice quiet comfortable medical office suite, Manny is an absolute medical professional. Very calming experience, able to visually see your heart in action while Manny is explaining the various actions of the heart. Also performed an ultrasound on the carotid arteries. 40 min comfortable procedure to determine the health of your heart. Low cost, results within 24 to 48 hours and just a few days to get an appointment! This is the way healthcare should be!

That is not a marketing device, and you can check it against the booking calendar. Emanuel performs every screening personally around a full-time clinical job, which means daytime appointments exist on Fridays and Saturdays only, plus a couple of evening slots midweek. Seventy-five is about half of what the Friday and Saturday calendar holds across the opening period. When the slots are gone they are gone, and standard pricing applies.
We are not going to tell you that your heart cannot wait. If a screening is right for you, it will still be right later at the regular rate. The limit is on the number of slots, not on your health.
