Renal Artery Ultrasound Cost
What a kidney artery scan costs in Maine, without a referral.
What a kidney artery scan costs in Maine, without a referral.
The Short Answer
A renal artery duplex at BlackPoint is $397 at our Falmouth imaging center, or $597 on-site at your home or workplace in Southern Maine. That includes the scan, the cardiologist review and the report.
We publish the price because most places do not. If you have called a hospital and been told the cost depends on your plan, your deductible and which department does the billing, that is the difference.

HSA and FSA cards are accepted. Payment plans are available at checkout.
The Study
A renal artery ultrasound examines the arteries supplying each kidney and the kidneys themselves. It measures the speed of blood flow to find narrowing. It is the study used when blood pressure stays high despite several medications, when kidney function is declining without an obvious cause, or when one kidney is smaller than the other. The scan takes 45 to 60 minutes.
Findings
Grand Opening
If you are weighing more than one study: the Stroke Screening Package is an echocardiogram plus a carotid duplex, with an abdominal aortic aneurysm screening added during the opening — $1,094 of screening for $497 at our Falmouth imaging center. Limited to the first 75 patients.
All three are completed in a single visit of about 45 minutes. The discount is already applied when you follow this link.

Arriving without a large meal beforehand improves the view of the arteries, since overlying bowel gas is the usual obstacle. We will tell you what helps when you book.
