What Happens During the Scan
Our registered cardiac and vascular sonographer scans at our Falmouth imaging center, or comes to your home with portable ultrasound equipment. A single study is $397 in Falmouth or $597 at your home. No fasting required. No waiting rooms. You stay comfortable in your own space throughout.
For the echocardiogram, ultrasound gel is applied to the chest and a transducer images your heart from several positions. The study evaluates all four chambers, all four valves, ejection fraction, diastolic function, and estimated pulmonary pressures. Takes approximately 45 minutes. Completely painless, no radiation.
If a venous duplex is also performed in the same visit, the probe scans the leg veins from groin to ankle with you lying flat, evaluating each vein segment for valve function and blood flow direction. Another 30 minutes, also painless.
Our sonographer walks you through key findings before leaving. The formal cardiologist-reviewed written report arrives within 24—48 hours — ready to share with your primary care physician or any specialist you're seeing.
