Clinical Indications
An abdominal aortic aneurysm (AAA) screening is a focused ultrasound of the largest artery in your body — the aorta — as it passes through your abdomen. Evaluates whether the aneurysm extends into the iliac arteries below the aorta — a finding that changes surgical planning.
Assesses the relationship of the aneurysm to the renal arteries and other branches, which determines whether endovascular repair is feasible.
